Opposition parties including Congress, DMK and Samajwadi Party submitted a no-confidence notice to remove Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, with about 120 MPs signing under Article 94-C.

The opposition parties on Tuesday submitted a no-confidence notice to remove Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla from his office.
Gaurav Gogoi, Deputy Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, said that the notice for resolution to remove the speaker given under Article 94-C of the Constitution to the Lok Sabha secretary general.
About 120 MPs of parties like Congress, DMK and the Samajwadi Party have signed a notice for moving a resolution to remove Birla from office, while Trinamool Congress MPs opted out, sources said.
