Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a mega rally at the Brigade Parade Ground on March 14, in what is expected to be one of the biggest rallies of the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal.

The rally will mark the culmination of the BJP’s Parivartan Yatra, a major political outreach campaign that has been travelling across the state. The yatra began from nine different locations in Bengal and has seen participation from several top BJP leaders.

The campaign was inaugurated by senior BJP leaders including Party President Nitin Nabin, Jagat Prakash Nadda and Amit Shah. By March 10, the yatra would cover nearly 5,000 kilometres, passing through more than 200 assembly constituencies across the state.

According to party insiders, the rallies have witnessed significant public participation, and the leadership expects a massive turnout at the Brigade Parade Ground for the Prime Minister’s address. They believe the Parivartan Yatra has played a crucial role in mobilising support across both North and South Bengal.

Samik Bhattacharya said, “The Parivartan Yatra clearly shows that the people of Bengal want change. The time of Mamata Banerjee is over; now we are waiting for the right moment. This yatra will conclude with the mega rally of Narendra Modi."

Apart from the large rallies, the BJP has also been organising numerous small meetings and outreach programmes in towns and villages along the yatra route. The party is using the campaign to highlight its call for political change in the state and present its alternative vision for governance.

Meanwhile, the ruling All India Trinamool Congress has dismissed the BJP’s campaign, asserting that despite the political mobilisation, Mamata Banerjee will retain power in the state.
