India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar participated in the first Quad meeting held after Donald Trump took oath as the country’s 47th president and also held a bilateral meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio which continued for more than an hour.

This was Rubio’s first such meeting after taking office which underlined the importance being given to India in the new Trump administration.
