Samsung One UI 8 is using the Android 16 features and making it stronger

The One UI 8 update is rolling out soon and Samsung is making sure that all the Android 16-related security features are available for its Galaxy phone and tablet users. The One UI 8 program has already started and it seems the company is looking to redeem itself by rolling out the new version without any hiccups. 

The new Advanced Protection feature available with Android 16 is making sure that Samsung users get additional device security and as many as 9 new features are on the table that can be enabled from the device. 

Samsung One UI 8 Security Features For Phones 

The new security features available with the One UI 8 version have been spotted running on the Galaxy S25 in this report. Samsung users will be able to enable these features from the device settings which lets you access nine tools that look to protect your device. Here’s a look at these features that the Android 16-based One UI 8 update promises later this year: 

Inactivity Reboot is the feature restarts your device if it remains locked for three continuous days. Next, you have the Google Play Protect shielding your device and scanning for apps that may be dangerous and even malicious. More importantly, the tool blocks the device from accessing 2G networks which are dated and seen as less secure than the modern tech. 

After this, the device is now geared up to tackle major lapses. It uses Android Safe Browsing to stop you from opening or accessing any possible harmful webpages. It even warns you about trying to open a website without the HTTPS standard. 

In addition to these, we expect the new security measures introduced with the One UI 7 version come over to the new update which includes: 

Theft detection lock: Samsung uses ML to sense a sudden movement that can be linked to snatching of the phone and lock the device. 

Offline device lock: The company automatically locks the stolen device if it notices going offline for a long period. 

Remote lock: Users can remotely lock their stolen device with their phone number and further verification steps. 

Samsung has added more layers of security for these cases, and these are: 

Identity check: The Galaxy phones will demand a biometric security check when it notices a random change in settings done in an unknown location. 

It seems the company is serious about making its users aware of these new security upgrades, which is why Samsung had recently used all mediums like ads, radio and TVCs in the UK to connect and reach out to its consumers.
