A school bus carrying 31 people overturned on the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey on Monday night, leaving 15 injured, including the driver and 14 young passengers. Emergency responders arrived quickly, with video footage showing the bus lying on its side, its rear emergency door open.

14-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured

Officials confirmed that while no fatalities were reported, a 14-year-old boy was seriously injured after being pinned under the overturned bus. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Governor Murphy Responds

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy acknowledged the incident in a social media post, stating that he had been briefed and that state police and the Department of Transportation were actively investigating the crash.

Bus Was Headed to New York

According to Montvale Mayor Mike Ghassali, the bus, which was from Lakewood, was traveling to New York state when the accident occurred. Montvale, where the crash took place, is located near the New York state border. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
