Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: It may not come as a surprise that the focus on the Nifty 50 index takes a back seat ahead of an action-packed session that lies in store.

Today is the weekly expiry of the NSE contracts. It is also a very important day as India's most bid IPO, LG Electronics India makes its stock market debut. Today is also the day when Tata Motors will begin to trade out of ex-its commercial vehicles business.

Earnings season also gathers pace today with HCLTech reacting to its results reported after market hours on Monday. Tech Mahindra will become the third IT major to report results today after TCS and HCLTech, while IREDA, Bank of Maharashtra, Persistent Systems, ICICI Lombard and ICICI Prudential are some of the other companies reporting results today.

For the Nifty, the index has managed to defend the 25,150 mark on both Friday and Monday, and that becomes the key level on the downside to watch. However, the index made a lower high on Monday, and therefore the 25,250 - 25,300 range remains important to watch. The Nifty Bank outperformed on Monday and will remain the key for the Nifty to edge higher.
