Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Indian markets are once again under pressure, as volatility remains in the fore. The Nifty has fallen about 120 points, trading around the 22,700 mark. The Sensex index has also recovered from lows and is now down 500 points, dropping to 73,000.
For the Nifty, March 23 lows of 22,471 are well within sight, although analysts see some support at lower levels before that gets re-tested.
All banking stocks are trading in the red, with the Nifty Bank on the verge of dropping below the 50,000 mark. The most important reaction today, though, will be on the rupee, after the RBI capped total positions that banks can take in the onshore currency market to $100 million.
The move will also have a reaction on banking names, keeping the Nifty Bank in focus too.
The Nifty Bank is now down 15% from its peak, and is struggling to hold 52,000.
