Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: It is past noon, and as trade in the second half of the day's trade continues, the markets are marking a turnaround after starting the week on a bad note, with the Nifty now having reduced its losses to just 30 points at 23,600. The Nifty Bank index however remains under pressure and is also down over 400 points, falling to 53,100. Power Grid, Tata Steel and Maruti are the top losers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: It is the halfway mark on the first day of trade in this new week, and the markets have managed to recover from the deep cuts of the day. However, the indices still largely remain in red.
The Nifty index is falling over 110 points, stumbling on its way to the 23,500 mark. The Sensex is down over 330 points, falling to the 74,900 mark.
This comes at a time when the Brent crude price is now at $111. Bond yields are rising, and the currency is at a record low.
For Nifty, the 23,500 level, which it managed to sustain above last week, comes back into play again on the downside, while the 23,700 - 23,800 zone continues to remain a barrier.
The Nifty Bank has a broad range of 53,500 - 54,500 for the session. Broader markets will be crucial as earnings reactions have been on the extreme on either side.
Watch for stocks like Tata Steel, Vodafone Idea, ITC Hotels, and Hindustan Copper react to results. Also watch for REC, PFC, ICICI Prudential Life among other names.
