Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty Index has declined by over 200 points. The Sensex is down 700 points. The massive sell-off could result in Nifty closing for the 4th consecutive week with losses.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: What was feared has come to pass, as the Nifty index stumbled, falling by over 100 points, falling behind the 25,000 mark yet again; now it has dipped to below 24,850. This also means that the 50-stock index is now below the 50-Day Moving Average.
That level of 25,058 will remain the key going into today's trading session.
While the Nifty Bank recovered a little, the broader markets, ie the small-cap and the mid-cap indices, are trading with deep cuts of under 1%.
The midcap index has fallen a colossal 700 points, along with the small-cap, which has also declined over 1.6%.
The shares of Bajaj Finance slipped over 5% after the company, after its Q1 results on Thursday, was downgraded by JPMorgan. The shares of Bajaj Finserv slipped ahead of its results today. Some other major movements in focus include Authum Investment, which, after a large trade declined by over 14%.
Some of the big names reporting their results include Bajaj Finserv, Cipla, Laurus Labs, Shriram Finance, Tata Chemicals, and Bank of Baroda, among others.
