Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: We are at the halfway mark of the day's trade, and in this post-noon session, the heat has cooled off little. The markets are cautious, trading with a positive bias. The Nifty is up over 90 points, rising to the 23,950 mark. The Nifty Bank is under pressure, falling to the 57,000 mark. HCLTech, HUL and Bajaj Finance are the top gainers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: It is past noon at Dalal Street, and the markets are looking to hold onto the gains. The markets are looking to build on previous gains with a touch of caution, with the Nifty jumping around 100 points, rising above 23,900. The Sensex index has also surged over 350 points, rising towards 76,700.
The index is trading in the weekly expiry session, having gained nearly 700 points across Friday and Monday on a closing basis. The swift upmove from last week's lows around 23,150 has resulted in some buyers' exhaustion at higher levels. That 24,000 level remains key for the index to unlock the next leg of the upmove.
The Nifty Bank is the weakest link, as the index trades with minimal movement, almost flat.
The Nifty Bank has been the bigger outperformer, gaining 2,000 points in two sessions, and the exhaustion at higher levels was much more pronounced there, with the index cooling over 600 points from the day's high.
