Panic swept at the US’s Detroit Metro Airport in Michigan when a speeding car smashed through the terminal entrance and crashed into a ticket counter, leaving about six people injured.
Media outlet WXYZ cited footage capturing the black sedan sitting in the middle of the McNamara Terminal, where startled Delta Airlines employees were working as it smashed through the glass doors of Romulus, Mich., around 7:30 pm.
According to witnesses, they heard a loud noise as the car crashed into the entrance and into the Delta Air Lines desk as employees were working. Six people were treated at the scene, officials said.

Immediately after the incident, the driver exited the vehicle with his hands raised and speaking in a daze as security and airport officials rushed to the debris-ridden area. The driver was taken into custody.
“The response was so quick, thank God, with the cops and TSA and everybody," said Ali Khalifa, who was travelling. “That all happened in seconds."

New York Post cited videos on social media showing the unidentified male driver — sporting a Detroit Lions jersey — was screaming incoherently as he was hauled away by nearly a dozen security officers.
According to a Fox 2 report, the vehicle was later searched by a K9 unit, which found nothing of concern.
The Wayne County Airport Authority Police Department has launched an investigation into the matter. The authorities said the cause of the crash remains unclear and is being investigated from all angles.
Delta Air Lines said airport operations continued as normal following the incident.
