Areas submerged in Delhi as Yamuna overflows; schools, offices shut in Gurugram

An orange alert has been issued for Delhi and Gurugram, with a forecast for heavy rainfall today between 3 pm and 7 pm. This follows a previous day's downpour that resulted in inundated roads and severe traffic jams across the Capital Region. In Gurugram, the administration has advised private and corporate institutions to allow employees to work from home. The advisory states, "All corporate and private institutions have been advised to ask their employees to work from home for today." The Yamuna river has also crossed the danger mark in Delhi. The rainfall in Delhi NCR for August has broken a 15-year record, with 400 mm of rain recorded. Visuals from across the region, including Gurugram, Vasant Vihar, and Chhatarpur, show waterlogged streets and slow-moving traffic.
