Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif told Vladimir Putin in Beijing that Pakistan respects Russia's ties with India and seeks stronger relations with Moscow, as both prepared to attend China's WWII anniversary parade.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Islamabad respects Moscow’s relations with New Delhi, calling them "perfectly fine," during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing on Tuesday (September 2).
Sharif added that Islamabad seeks to build strong relations with Moscow. "We also want to build very strong relations, which would be supplementary and complementary for the progress and prosperity of the region," he said, praising Putin as a "very dynamic leader" and expressing his willingness to work closely with him.
Both leaders are set to attend a major Chinese military parade marking the 80th anniversary of Japan’s defeat in World War II.
Putin also met Chinese President Xi Jinping and Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico as part of a series of diplomatic meetings in Beijing.
