US President Donald Trump said that strikes on Yemen’s Houthis will continue until they are no longer a threat to shipping. Warning Iran backed-Houthis and Tehran, the US President said- in a post on Truth Social- that “real pain" is yet to come.
“The choice for the Huthis is clear: Stop shooting at US ships, and we will stop shooting at you. Otherwise, we have only just begun, and the real pain is yet to come, for both the Huthis and their sponsors in Iran," Donald Trump said.
This comes as Donald Trump said that “there will be bombing" if Iran does not reach a deal on its nuclear program.
Houthis had been “decimated" by “relentless" strikes since March 15 and US forces “hit them every day and night — Harder and harder", Donald Trump added in the post.
He said, “Our attacks will continue until they are no longer a threat to Freedom of Navigation."
The Donald Trump administration has been battling a scandal over a chat between senior US officials on Yemen strikes which was accidentally leaked to a journalist. He has repeatedly insisted on the success of the US strikes on the Houthis after the Atlantic magazine revealed last week that its editor was mistakenly included in a chat on Signal app as top officials discussed the Yemen strikes.
On the chat, Donald Trump’s Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth revealed details of air strike timings and intelligence, as per the report.
Donald Trump called the scandal a “witch hunt" and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “This case has been closed here at the White House as far as we are concerned."
