The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has digitally recreated the voice of its founder and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N T Rama Rao (NTR) using artificial intelligence for an invitation video of its annual conclave in Kadapa district.

The video, which was released on Monday, features the legendary actor and political leader inviting people to attend Mahanadu in Kadapa from May 27 to 29.

The iconic leader’s voice sparked a wave of nostalgia online, eliciting reactions from netizens in tribute to NTR.

A booming voice resembling that of NTR, said, “My dear Telugu sisters and brothers, warm greetings. It gives me immense pride that Mahanadu, which I initiated to unite the Telugu people and awaken Telugu pride, has today become a symbol of Telugu unity. I warmly invite you all to the Mahanadu celebrations being held for the first time on the soil of Kadapa on May 27, 28, and 29, 2025."

The party has also released other AI-powered videos showcasing Mahanadu preparations, vibrant cadre mobilisation, and infrastructural arrangements, amplifying the party’s tech-savvy image and outreach strategy.

Party leaders believe this digital tribute not only honors NTR’s legacy but also galvanises support, drawing people emotionally and politically toward the TDP platform.

Additionally, TDP general secretary and Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh on Tuesday unveiled six key resolutions or ideological pillars of the party at its three-day annual conclave.

The six ideological pillars, include global recognition for the Telugu community, empowering the youth, women’s empowerment, supporting farmers and cadre is the leader.

“Our Chandranna (Chandrababu Naidu) has taken the pride of the Telugu people to the global stage. Telugu people should lead in every field — education, technology, politics, and entrepreneurship," said Lokesh, addressing a gathering of TDP supporters, leaders and cadres.

The IT Minister emphasised the party’s commitment to providing meaningful representation to youth in Telugu politics, pointing out that 88 MLAs out of 164 from the NDA alliance are first-time MLAs.

Who Was NT Rama Rao?

N T Rama Rao (popularly called NTR) was an Indian actor and politician who served as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh for three terms (1983–84, 1984–89, and 1994–95). He founded the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 1982 and became the first chief minister of the state who did not belong to the Indian Congress.

Incumbent CM Chandrababu Naidu is NTR’s son-in-law, while Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, Jr (Jr NTR), one of India’s leading film stars, is NTR’s grandson.
