Dr Christina B Propst, a Houston-based paediatrician, became a subject of public scrutiny after she recently shared her unwelcoming remarks against Trump supporters during Texas floods, especially in Kerr County. She was also fired from her job following her statements. Following the actions against her for her comments, Dr Propst has now issued an apology, taking full accountability for what she said.

The recent floods in the US, which have claimed several lives, in a major cause of environmental concern. The floods have claimed more than 120 lives. While the state is observing mourning on the deaths, Dr Propst shared a post on Facebook, writing, “May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry. Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts."

Social media users condemned her comments on the situation, while Blue Fish Paediatrics terminated her appointment. In their statement posted on KRPC 2, they shared, “That post does not reflect the values, standards, or mission of Blue Fish Paediatrics. We do not support or condone any statement that politicises tragedy, diminishes human dignity, or fails to uphold compassion for every child and family."

Soon after, in another post issued recently, Dr Propst accepted her mistakes, while claiming that she was unaware of the number of lives lost in the tragedy. “I speak to you as a mother, a neighbour, a paediatrician, and a human being who is deeply sorry," she wrote in her apology.

She elaborated, “My comment came from a place of frustration—born of my belief that our communities, first responders, healthcare system, early-warning systems and disaster infrastructure need more and better support and funding to help prevent and respond to tragedies such as this." She ensured that as a health practitioner, she is fully committed to children’s medical care.

Meanwhile, the number of missing persons continues to rise during the recent floods. As per reports, Kerr County is the worst-hit region with 95 deaths. The state-wide death toll has reached almost 120, whereas over 160 people are still missing.
