Donald Trump praised Pakistan and said he “gets along very well” with its leadership while responding to questions on the escalating Afghanistan conflict.

US President Donald Trump on Saturday praised Pakistan while responding to questions from reporters about the ongoing military escalation between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
When asked about a potential US role in addressing the rapidly intensifying confrontation between Islamabad and Kabul, Trump stressed his personal rapport with Pakistan’s leadership.
“I would (intervene). But I get along with Pakistan very, very well. They have a great Prime Minister, a great General. They have a great leader, two of the people that I really respect a lot. Pakistan is doing terrifically well," Trump said.
