US President Donald Trump said that Canada could join his proposed ‘Golden Dome’ missile defense system for free, but only if the country agreed to become the 51st US state. Otherwise, he asserted, participation would cost Canada $61 billion.
Donald Trump made the unusual proposal in a post on his social media platform Truth Social saying, “I told Canada, which very much wants to be part of our fabulous Golden Dome System, that it will cost $61 Billion Dollars if they remain a separate, but unequal, Nation, but will cost ZERO DOLLARS if they become our cherished 51st State."
Donald Trump added that Canada was “considering the offer."
