US President Donald Trump shared the link to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's interview with AI researcher and podcaster Lex Fridman on his Truth Social account. In the wide-ranging conversation, PM Modi reflected on his past interactions with Trump, recalling key moments from their meetings, including the 2019 "Howdy Modi" event in Houston, his visit to the White House, and last year's assassination attempt on Trump.

The PM described the "Howdy Modi" event as a special moment, highlighting the enthusiasm of the Indian diaspora and the unique security situation that unfolded. He recounted how, after delivering his speech, he approached Trump and casually suggested they walk around the stadium to greet attendees.

"I went to him to thank him, and casually said that if you don't mind, why don't we take a lap around the stadium," PM Modi said. "There are so many people here, let's walk, wave, and greet them," he added. According to him, Trump immediately agreed, catching his security detail off guard. "His entire security detail was thrown off guard," he said. "But for me, that moment was touching. It showed his courage."

The Prime Minister also drew a parallel between that moment and last year's assassination attempt on Trump during a campaign rally. "When Trump was shot during a recent campaign before the US elections, I saw the same resilient and determined President Trump, the one who walked hand in hand with me in that stadium," he said.

"Even after being shot, he remained unwaveringly dedicated to America. His life is for his nation. His reflection showed his America First spirit, just as I believe in India First. I stand for India First, and that's why we connect so well. These are the things that truly resonate," he added.

Speaking about Trump's return to the White House for a second term, PM Modi noted that he appeared much more prepared than before. "He has a clear roadmap in his mind with well-defined steps, each one designed to lead him toward his goals," he said.

He also recalled his visit to the White House, where Trump personally broke protocol to give him a tour. "He personally took me on a tour of the White House," PM Modi said, emphasising that despite not meeting in person for years, their communication and trust remained strong.

PM Modi also spoke about Trump's humility, recalling how he chose to sit among the audience during the "Howdy Modi" event rather than maintaining a presidential distance. "That's his humility," he said. He also addressed Trump's past comment that Modi was a better negotiator, attributing it to Trump's graciousness. "He has a clear roadmap in his mind with well-defined steps, each one designed to lead him toward his goals," the Prime Minister reiterated, adding that his own approach to negotiations always prioritised India's interests.

The Prime Minister reflected on the challenges leaders face and the sacrifices required in public life. He mentioned how political figures often become targets of attacks but must remain committed to their vision for their nations.

"My family has been subjected to unrelenting attacks and threats, motivated solely by a desire to hurt me-the worst kind of partisan politics," he said, echoing Trump's own experiences with political opposition.
