Banned terror outfit TTP has threatened to bomb Islamabad, while issuing a warning to the army that it will soon take over the Punjab province and even target “American facilitators" in the capital city.
In a recent video, which was accessed by News18, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed to have reached Islamabad.
According to the video, the TTP issued threats against the Pakistani Army and vowed to carry out a “surprise" bombing in Islamabad.
“Our jihad is to continue from the land of Punjab," the TTP said in the video. “We will establish sharia in Punjab and all of Pakistan."
The TTP claimed that the army will not be able to fight their mujahideen during its “surprise attack" in Islamabad. “The Pakistani Army can’t fight our mujahideen," it said. “We will surprise you by attacking Islamabad. TTP fighters will target American facilitators in Islamabad too."

Recruitment for the TTP has surged across the Punjab province, which is Pakistan’s most populous, and other regions – a spike that began after the country cracked down on Tehreek-e-Labbaik, pushing frustrated supporters to reconsider their alliances.
Seizing the moment, the TTP released a statement calling on those supporters to join them, turning political unrest into a new recruitment pipeline.
This comes as security forces have intensified their action against the TTP, especially in the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Earlier, a commander belonging to the group was killed in a joint operation with the counter terrorism department in the province. Only a few days ago, security forces killed several TTP members in multiple operations in the same province, when militants fired at a police convoy in Bannu district.
Pakistan has seen a rise in terrorist attacks, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, mostly targeting police, law enforcement, and security forces. The increase followed TTP’s breaking of a ceasefire agreement with the government in 2022. But now, it looks like the outfit has made inroads into the Punjab province as well.
