Two men disguised as Amazon delivery guys beat up a 66-year-old pub owner in Savannah on January 11, Fox News reported.

According to local police and reports, the suspects knocked on the mans door around 8 a.m. on January 11, dressed in Amazon-branded blue jackets and carrying a cardboard box.

When the victim answered the door, the men reportedly assaulted him with a sledgehammer-like weapon for nearly eight minutes.

The attack was captured in security footage released by the Savannah Police Department. The victim was heard crying for help during the attack, the report said.

When neighbours arrived at the scene, they found the man with multiple head wounds. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment and needed 14 stitches.

After the brutal attack, the suspects fled the scene with $80 in cash stolen from the victim. The Savannah Police Department is actively investigating the incident and seeking the two men involved.

An Amazon spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the suspects were not making an official delivery for the company.

"Based on our internal investigation, we can confirm that these individuals were not making a scheduled delivery for Amazon," the spokesperson said.

"Amazon regularly monitors the internet for unauthorised use of our apparel and works to remove those items wherever possible," the spokesperson said, clarifying that Amazon delivery personnel do not typically knock on doors unless it is part of a prearranged delivery.

The police are urging anyone with information about the suspects or anyone who might have seen them in the area at the time of the attack to come forward. "If you have any information, please contact SPD or submit an anonymous tip through our CrimeStoppers line at 912-234-2020," the department stated.

As the investigation continues, authorities are working to identify and locate the suspects responsible for this violent crime.
