Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday signed a loan agreement with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer that will enhance Ukraine's defence capabilities, a day after the former was involved in an extraordinary diplomatic meltdown with US President Donald Trump at the White House.

Unlike the tense atmosphere at the Oval Office during his talks with Trump on ending the Ukraine war, the Ukrainian President was embraced by Starmer outside his 10 Downing Street residence. In a meeting described as "warm" by Zelenskyy, he thanked the UK for its "tremendous support" for Ukraine, since it was invaded by Russia three years ago. On the other hand, Starmer reiterated his stance on the UK's "unwavering support" for the war-torn European nation.
