Ukraine, US begin crucial talks in Riyadh days after Trump-Zelenskyy showdown

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hopes that the talks, which come days after his disastrous meeting with US President Donald Trump at the Oval Office, will see "practical outcomes" and that Kyiv's position will be "fully constructive".

Ukrainian and US officials on Tuesday began their talks in Saudi Arabia's Jeddah to find a path towards ending the war with Russia. This is the first engagement between both sides days after a shouting match between Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump at the Oval Office.

On Monday, Zelenskyy expressed hope that the talks in Riyadh will see "practical outcomes" and that Kyiv's position will be "fully constructive".
