Pakistan has issued yet another navigational warning (NAVAREA) for live naval firing exercises in the Arabian Sea, signalling a continuation of heightened military activity that coincides with India’s ongoing Trishul-Services tri-forces exercises.

According to maritime advisories, the Pakistan Navy will conduct live firing and naval manoeuvres between November 2 and November 5, in waters close to the disputed Sir Creek region and near India’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The alert covers a 135-kilometre navigational area, cautioning commercial and civilian vessels to avoid the designated zone during the exercise window.

Defence sources indicate that missile testing is likely to be part of the drills, alongside potential trials of newly upgraded submarine-launched torpedoes.

This latest notification adds to a series of NOTAMs (Notices to Airmen) and NAVAREA warnings Pakistan has issued for November, with multiple airspace and maritime restrictions already in place from November 1 to November 30.

Officials and observers view the increased tempo of Pakistani military activity as a signal of precaution amid India’s ongoing Trishul exercises, which involve coordinated operations by the Army, Navy, and Air Force along India’s western front.

While both sides maintain that the exercises are routine, the timing and proximity of the naval firing zone, near Sir Creek and close to India’s EEZ, underscore the persistent tensions and mutual watchfulness that define the India-Pakistan maritime boundary.

On Trishul, defence officials had told CNN-News18 that this was the first major tri-service wargame since ‘Operation Sindoor’ and was aimed at testing and validating lessons learned from that operation.

The exercise will see the armed forces execute coordinated operations across a variety of challenging terrains, including offensive manoeuvres in creek and desert regions, amphibious landings off the Saurashtra coast, and joint multi-domain drills.

The Indian Air Force will deploy a fleet of frontline fighters and support aircraft, including Rafales, Su-30MKIs, RPAs, UAVs IL-78 refuellers, and Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platforms. Meanwhile, the Indian Navy will field its frontline warships and other assets to simulate realistic maritime combat scenarios. The Indian Army has mobilised around 25,000 troops, supported by main battle tanks, artillery, armed helicopters, and a variety of missile systems. Several indigenous weapons and platforms will also be tested under live operational conditions during the exercise.
