The visit will include stops in Churachandpur, an epicentre of the violence, and the capital, Imphal. Under the banner 'Vixit Bharat, Vixit Manipur', the Prime Minister is set to launch development projects valued at 8,500 crore rupees. The visit has drawn a political reaction from the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, who stated the trip is "no big deal." Rahul Gandhi asserted that the primary issue facing the country is what he calls 'Vote Chori'. The visit is being positioned as an effort to heal the wounds from the conflict that has affected the state for two years.
