A newly released satellite image shows six craters at Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility, marking the points where US bombs likely penetrated the ground during the recent airstrikes.
After President Donald Trump’s order, the US Army launched precision airstrikes on three of Iran’s nuclear sites—Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow, under the codename ‘Operation Hammer’.
At the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant, located northeast of Qom, grey dust and debris were visible scattered down the mountainside following the overnight airstrikes, during which “bunker buster" bombs were deployed.
Reports suggest that the Fordow facility is entirely built beneath a mountain, with no visible structures or chimneys above ground, as the entire nuclear reactor is located underground—prompting the US to use the B-2 bunker-buster bombs.
US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth called Washington’s ‘Operation Midnight Hammer’ against Iran an “overwhelming success", adding that they “devastated" Iranian nuclear facilities at multiple locations.
