Brent crude rose above $72 per barrel, up more than 6% this week, while West Texas Intermediate hovered near $67. Trump said he considered 10 to 15 days to be “pretty much” the maximum time he would allow for negotiations to continue.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has urged Iran to immediately release children detained during the nationwide anti-regime protests, warning of the serious harm incarceration can cause to minors.

“UNICEF is deeply concerned by reports that children arrested in connection with the recent public unrest in Iran remain in detention,” Edouard Beigbeder, UNICEF regional director for the Middle East and North Africa, said in a statement, according to Iran .

F-35s, F-22s, F-15s, and F-16s, which departed from bases in the US and Europe, were observed heading to the region, AFP reported, citing the Military Air Tracking Alliance — a group of around 30 open-source analysts who monitor military and government flight activity.

The team also noted that more than 85 fuel tankers and over 170 cargo planes have moved into the region since mid-February.

The United States on Thursday indicated it would continue applying maximum pressure on Iran until Tehran complies with US demands concerning its nuclear program, ballistic missile development, and support for armed groups.

A State Department spokesman told AP that the policy is aimed at cutting off the revenue Tehran uses to fund what Washington describes as “malign activities.”

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk recently advised Polish citizens in Iran to leave the country immediately, warning that “within a few, a dozen, or even a few dozen hours, the possibility of evacuation will be out of the question.”

“The message from this President has been very clear from the beginning of this administration, even before,” Piggott said. “We have a maximum pressure policy on the Iranian regime to deny them the revenue they need to fund their malign activities, including their nuclear weapons program, including their ballistic missile program, including the funding of terrorist proxies across the region”, he said.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei on Wednesday condemned Israel’s move to step up control over Area C of the occupied West Bank through land‑registration measures.

He described it as a “de facto annexation and an extension of genocidal policies aimed at annihilating Palestine”.

US Senator John Fetterman said on Thursday that Tehran should be confronted with military force over its nuclear program, adding “cancer cannot be negotiated with”.

“I think I clearly… how could you allow Iran to acquire a nuclear bomb?” Fetterman said in an interview on Fox News, reported Iran .

“Now we’ve demonstrated that the only thing Iran ever responds to is strength and power… you can’t negotiate with cancer. You have to attack it and go right at it with superior force,” he added.

UNICEF expressed deep concern about children arrested during the recent public unrest in Iran, following the mass agitation against the Khamenei-led government.

“UNICEF is deeply concerned by the reports that children arrested in connection with the recent public unrest in Iran remain in detention.”

“We urge that immediate, independent access be granted to all detained children to assess their situation, treatment, and well-being”, it added.

According to Iran , a new poll by Channel 12 suggested that 59 per cent of Israelis are in favour of their country joining a potential US-led military strike on Iran.

While 29 per cent oppose joining such an operation, 12 per cent remain undecided.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow was closely monitoring developments, urging all sides to practice restraint and caution.

“We call on our Iranian friends and all parties in the region to exercise restraint and caution, and we urge them to prioritize political and diplomatic means in resolving any problems,” Peskov told reporters.

He further acknowledged that there has been an “unprecedented” escalation in the region.

Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Thursday urged all Polish nationals to leave Iran after US President Donald Trump again signalled possible military action against the country.

At a press conference, he said, “Everyone who is still in Iran must leave immediately, and under no circumstances should anyone plan to travel to that country,” warning of rapidly rising risks, according to a report by AFP.

He further cautioned that “the possibility of heated conflict is very real, and in a few, a dozen or several dozen hours, evacuation may no longer be an option”.
