US-Israel-Iran War Updates Today: The war in West Asia intensified on Wednesday as fresh strikes, drone attacks and threats of economic warfare spread across the region, while global oil prices surged and maritime routes faced disruptions.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it has attacked two ships, the Liberian-flagged Express Rome and the Thai-flagged Mayuree Naree, in the Strait of Hormuz amid global energy concerns.
The Energy Agency has agreed to release the largest volume of emergency oil reserves in its history, in a bid to counter the effects on energy markets of the war. Oil prices remained well below those on Monday, although the price of Brent crude went up 20%.

Meanwhile, a military investigation has found the United States responsible for a deadly missile attack on an elementary school in Iran that killed more than 160 girls, according to citing US officials and other people familiar with the preliminary findings. However, US President Donald Trump has denied knowledge of the probe.
Explosions continue to rock Iran as US and Israeli forces have struck nearly 10,000 civilian sites in the country. Iranian counterattacks are also going on, with several Gulf states, including Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, reporting missile and drone interceptions.

As many as 35 tourists from Odisha who were stranded in Dubai due to flight cancellations amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia have safely returned home, officials said on Wednesday.
According to a statement by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), nine of the stranded tourists returned to Bhubaneswar via Kochi in Kerala on March 7.
The rest of the tourists returned to the state capital on March 8 via Mumbai on a special Air India Express flight.
Iraq Calls For Restraint After Iran's Targeting Of Oil Tankers In Its Territorial Waters
Iraq’s Ministry of Oil said the targeting of oil tankers in the Persian Gulf represents “a worrying indicator of escalating tensions” and has called for the protection of vital maritime routes.
The ministry’s statement comes after two foreign oil tankers were attacked by Iranian drones in Iraq’s territorial waters. At least one person died and 38 others were rescued.
“The incidents involving oil tankers in maritime routes represent a worrying indicator of escalating tensions in a region vital to the global economy and energy supplies,” the ministry said “The security and safety of navigation in international maritime routes and energy supply lines must remain free from regional conflicts and rivalries.”

The UN Security Council on Wednesday passed a resolution calling for Iran to immediately halt its attacks on Gulf states, saying they breach international law and pose a “serious threat to international peace and security.”
• The resolution, passed by 13 votes with two abstentions, “demands the immediate cessation of all attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran against Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan.”
• It also “condemns any actions or threats by the Islamic Republic of Iran aimed at closing, obstructing, or otherwise interfering with international navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.”
• Iran has struck Gulf states in retaliation to US-Israeli attacks that killed Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
• The Islamic republic has also fired on commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial sea passage for the global fuel trade, in a bid to inflict pain on the global economy.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it carried out a joint operation with Lebanon’s Hezbollah that involved five hours of sustained fire and struck more than 50 targets across Israel.
• The IRGC said it fired a mix of ballistic missiles, while Hezbollah launched what it described as large-scale attack drones and rockets.
