US woman sexually harasses 11-year-old boy
A woman in the United States’ Connecticut allegedly supplied caffeine to an 11-year-old boy in an attempt to sexually assault him late at night. The woman, identified as Alyson Cranick, allegedly sent text messages to the boy on Snapchat and Discord to coerce the young boy to engage in sexually explicit activities with her.
The 44-year-old woman further confessed to the police that she lured the boy by offering him to buy Apple AirPods and a gun that fired plastic pellets, convinced him to sneak out of his home, gave him caffeinated drinks to keep him awake, and sexually exploited him, as reported by the news publication Daily Mail.
The police also noted that Cranick drove the boy to several locations and abused him in her car on at least 14 occasions.
The woman was charged by the state prosecutors in 2023 when the boy told the police that the woman had intercourse with him in her car. Later, she came out on bail, only to get arrested after violating her conditions of coming out by contacting a 13-year-old girl on Snapchat.
Cranick, a mother of two children, was a paraprofessional in the Columbia School District and was working as an administrative assistant at the EO Smith High School. Following the incident, she was fired from her job, and the Columbia School District issued a statement over the case.
Regretting the incident, Interim Superintendent Barbara Wilson noted that the woman was sacked following the investigation. She also noted that maintaining appropriate faculty-student relationships has become difficult at all times. She mentioned that educators need to take care of the interests of the students.
The marital status of Carnick is unknown, according to the Daily Mail.
