US President Donald Trump has acknowledged Elon Musk’s “regret" over his social media posts against him.

According to the New York Post, the US President, commenting on Musk’s regret, said, “I thought it was very nice that he did that".

The report further said that Trump, however, didn’t say whether he was willing to let bygones be bygones with the Tesla and SpaceX CEO.

Also addressing a press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that after the incident, the government has started to focus on the business of the American people.

“The President acknowledged the statement that Elon put out this morning, and he is appreciative of it, and we are continuing to focus on the business of the American people," she said.

When asked if the administration started a review of Musk’s government contract- something that the President said he’s considering, Leavitt said nothing like that has started as of now.

“Currently have no efforts have been made on that front as far as I’m aware," she said.

WHEN TRUMP SAID HE HAD ‘NO HARD FEELINGS’ FOR MUSK

On Monday, a couple of days before Elon Musk’s apology, Trump told the Post that he doesn’t “blame" Musk for the blow-up that started with him, but maintained that he was “a little disappointed".

“Look, I have no hard feelings," Trump said.

“I was really surprised that that happened. He went after a bill that’s phenomenal. He just — I think he feels very badly that he said that, actually," the New York Post quoted him as saying.

When asked whether he would ever go back to a regular relationship with Musk, Trump said, “I guess I could, but we have to straighten out the country."

“And my sole function now is getting this country back to a level higher than it’s ever been. And I think we can do that," the US President said.

However, a day before, on Sunday, Trump told NBC News that he has no desire to repair their relationship and warned that Musk could face “serious consequences" if he tries to help Democrats in upcoming elections.

TRUMP-MUSK FEUD, AND A ‘REGRET’

On Wednesday, Elon Musk backed off from a feud with Trump, saying he regrets social media posts that ‘went too far.’

“I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far," Musk wrote in an X post.

Musk’s break with a President on whom he spent hundreds of millions of dollars to elect appeared to put an end to his influence in the White House and prompted concerns about the effects on his companies.

As a major government contractor, Musk’s businesses could be particularly vulnerable to retribution, and Trump has already threatened to cut Musk’s contracts.

Musk earlier deleted a post in which he claimed without evidence that the government was concealing information about the president’s association with infamous pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Meanwhile, other posts that irritated Trump, including ones in which Musk called the spending bill an “abomination" and claimed credit for Trump’s election victory, remained live.
