Hours after suspected Baloch gunmen opened fire at the Jaffar Express train in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan on Tuesday, the Balochistan media shared a video of the tunnel where the train was held and said Pakistani helicopters were hovering over the area.
In an X post, the media also stated that the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed its forces pushed back the Pakistani troops and killed more than 30 personnel.
The BLA also claimed it held 214 hostages as “prisoners of war".
Further, in a stern warning to Pakistan, the BLA granted the country just 48 hours to release the Baloch political prisoners, “or face severe consequences".

Jaffar Express, with around 500 passengers on board in nine coaches, was on its way from Quetta to Peshawar in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa when it was fired upon between Gudalaar and Piru Koneri in a tunnel.
Hours after the attack, authorities said at least 13 terrorists were killed and 80 passengers were rescued by security forces.
