Vodafone Idea (Vi) 5G Launch in India: Vi has been late to the 5G party in India, where you have Jio and Airtel offering their unlimited 5G plans to its customers. Vi 5G launch is still some time away but the good news for Vi users is that the operator has started with 5G trials in select Indian cities, which means the official launch is not far away.

Vi users in Mumbai have got the first access to its high-speed network on their mobile devices and soon it will be available for those in cities Delhi, Bengaluru and more.

Vi 5G trials have started with Mumbai earlier this year and the full launch is expected this month in the city. However, there is a big list of cities where Vi 5G availability has been confirmed by the operator. Here is a detailed list of Vi 5G service and which areas the network will offer these speeds.

As you can see here, the official list clearly focuses on major cities but the tier 2 and 3 regions are also part of the roll out which will excite many Vi users.

Vi 5G trials should allow the select users to try out the 5G network at free of cost for a limited period. Post that, Vi has promised that its 5G plans will be competitively priced and possibly 15 percent lower than Jio 5G and Airtel 5G plans in the country. Vi 5G unlimited will be available on prepaid packs starting Rs 299 and for the Vi postpaid customers, the plans start from Rs 451.

Vi has lost millions of subscribers to Airtel and Jio since its 5G launch has been delayed by over 2 years in the market. Vi 5G launch will not only help the operator get its share back to some extent but also offer more choices to people rather than getting limited to two operators.
