US President Donald Trump on Wednesday found his attention derailing during a meeting with Irish Prime Minister Michel Martin for St. Patricks Day breakfast at the White House, courtesy Vice President JD Vance's shamrock-themed socks. The incident saw both Vance and Martin break into laughter as the 78-year-old President admitted he was having hard time to focus because of his second-in-command's socks.

"I love these socks. What's with these socks?" Trump asked Vance as he pointed to his feet.

"I'm trying to stay focused, but I'm very impressed with the VP's socks," the US President added as Vance continued to laugh.

Trump had just started speaking about inflation when he stopped mid-sentence to appreciate the Vice President's socks

Vance explained that his choice of footwear was in nod to their Irish guest and St. Patricks Day.

Later, the 40-year-old Vice President took to X to share a thought about the moment, which was one of the highlights of the meeting. "I knew he'd comment on these socks," he tweeted, sharing a clip of the light moment at the White House.
