Naushad Abubakar, a Non-Resident Indian (NRI), has been charged with forcing a woman to marry him. He is also alleged to have threatened to expose her as a dancer in Dubai and share their intimate pictures.
The Jubilee Hills police in Hyderabad have registered a case against him.
According to Telangana Today, a 38-year-old married woman from Jubilee Hills went to Dubai six years ago. She was employed as a dancer in a pub for two years, and it was there she came in contact with Naushad Abubakar and became friends.
Disturbing demands and threats to woman
On returning to India, she claims Naushad started harassing her via phone calls, threatening to post their photos on her husband's phone.
After his constant threat, she went back to Dubai to meet him, and she asked him to delete the photos and videos of them, which he promised to do.
On his recent arrival in India, Naushad allegedly asked the woman to abandon her husband and children for him.
He also threatened to upload her personal pictures on social media if she did not oblige. Horrified by these acts, the woman registered a complaint at the Jubilee Hills police station on Thursday. The investigation is in progress.
The case has highlighted the serious problem of cyberbullying and the abuse of personal photos.
