West Indies legend Clive Lloyd heaped praise on PM Narendra Modi after their meeting in Guyana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met West Indies cricket personalities in Guyana during the last leg of his three-nation visit and highlighted cricket as a connecting bond between India and the Caribbean nations.

Cricket legend and former West Indies skipper Clive Lloyd heaped praise on PM Modi after the meeting while also noting his interest in Cricket and his work to help in the expansion of the sport.

He said that he would “like more Prime Ministers like PM Modi".

“We had a good discussion…The conversation went very well…I think 11 of our players will now be training in India. So, it has been a very good decision by them. We are thankful to them for that…The people have chosen him twice, so it’s obvious that he is doing a good job. He is interested in Cricket and that is very good. He is doing things to help to boost Cricket. So, we would like more Prime Ministers like him," the cricketing legend said.

PM Modi Concludes 3-Nation Visit

PM Modi concluded his three-nation tour with a busy final day in Guyana, marked by significant engagements. He met prominent West Indies cricket personalities, addressed a Special Session of the Assembly, and participated in several cultural and community events.

During his visit to Georgetown, the Prime Minister paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi by laying a wreath at his statue in Promenade Gardens. He also offered floral tributes at the Arya Samaj Monument, visited the Saraswati Vidya Niketan School, and paid his respects at the Indian Arrival Monument in the Monument Gardens. He also addressed an Indian community gathering.

The Prime Minister had arrived in the country on Wednesday, marking the first visit by an Indian PM in over 50 years.
