Public attention has focused on President Trump's hand, seen with visible makeup and bandages during a recent meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. The White House attributes the appearance to frequent handshaking and routine health measures, reiterating its commitment to transparency amid health speculation.

US President Donald Trump hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at his Mar-a-Lago residence to discuss a 20-point plan to end the Russia-Ukraine war. However, photographs taken ahead of their meeting drew attention to Trump’s right hand, which appeared heavily made up, fuelling speculation that he was covering up a medical issue.

Previously as well, Trump has been seen with bandages and make-up on his hand, prompting the public to speculate about the 79-year-old President's health. The White House has, however, dismissed the speculations and said that the visible bruising was due to "constant" handshaking.

The two leaders spoke to reporters on Sunday outside the American President's residence ahead of their closed-door meeting, which Trump suggested would be "good for Ukraine, good for everybody."

However, the mismatched concealer on Trump’s right hand, clearly visible as he spoke to reporters, caught the attention of social media users. Some expressed concern about his health, while others joked that he was a Demogorgon (the humanoid creature from Stranger Things).

"Because he's a demogorgon, Trump must have easy access to the Upside Down. He escapes through that hole. You do know that the word Trump translates to Vecna?" one user joked.

Another person posted on X, "These are definitely IV bruises. Whatever they’re saying about it, they’re lying. But they’re giving him something regularly into the veins."

"Just what is Trump getting treated for? What is he hiding?" a social media user queried.

Earlier this month, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt offered a bizarre explanation after President Trump was seen with a bandage on his hand.

“The President is constantly shaking hands. He’s also on a daily aspirin regimen, which, according to his past physical exams, can contribute to the bruise you see,” Leavitt said.

Her remarks echoed a similar statement she made in February 2025, when the President was seen with a noticeable black-and-blue bruise on his right hand.

“President Trump is a man of the people and meets more Americans, shaking their hands daily, than any other President in history,” she said at the time.

Trump has consistently dismissed concerns about his health, contrasting himself with his predecessor Joe Biden and asserting that he remains physically fit.

Earlier this month, he posted a lengthy message on Truth Social, accusing journalists who questioned his medical fitness of committing “sedition, maybe even treason.”
