Yemen on Tuesday fired a ballistic missile at Israel, triggering air raid sirens in several areas of southern Israel, including Beersheba and parts of the Negev Desert. The Israeli military later confirmed that the missile was intercepted by the Israeli Air Force (IAF) before it could reach Israeli territory.
“A missile launched from Yemen was intercepted by the IAF (air force) prior to crossing into Israeli territory," the Israeli military said in a statement.

Yemen’s Iran-backed Huthi rebels, who have targeted Israel before, condemned the renewed Israeli strikes on Gaza, pledging to escalate their support for Palestinians. The latest wave of Israeli strikes has been the deadliest since the truce began, resulting in over 400 deaths across Gaza, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.
