In an exclusive interview with India Today, Justice S Muralidhar, Chair of the UN Independent Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, discussed the findings of their recent report on the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Highlighting the disproportionate civilian toll, he stated, "The quadcopters were fitted with thermal imaging cameras... you have an instance of a ten-day breastfeeding baby being shot through the head with a single bullet." He outlined allegations of deliberate attacks on minors by the Israeli Defence Forces using advanced technology and airstrikes. Addressing Israel's rejection of the report, Justice S. Muralidhar pointed out that despite repeated requests, Israeli authorities refused to engage with the commission. Furthermore, he appealed to the international community and civil society to enforce humanitarian law and hold nations accountable, urging collective global action to stop the humanitarian crisis.
