Amazon is bringing the new Echo Show lineup to the Indian market but do users finally get the Alexa AI version as well?

Amazon Echo Show 11 and Show 8 gets better speakers and a new camera
Amazon Echo Show 11 and Show 8 smart display devices have launched in India after making their global debut earlier. The company is powering these devices with the AI version of Alexa in most regions but it seems Amazon is not ready to unleash the new version for the Indian market just yet.
As for the Echo Show 11 and 8 versions, you have a higher resolution display and comes with an improved camera for a better overall experience and for video calling. The smart home integration is still available among other features from the previous models.
Amazon Echo Show 11 And Echo Show 8 Price In India
Amazon Echo Show 8 is priced in India at Rs 23,999 while the bigger Echo Show 11 will cost you Rs 26,999 in the country. The new smart display devices from Amazon will be available in white and graphite colour variants.
Amazon Echo Show 11 And Echo Show 8 Features: Alexa AI Missing
The new Echo smart display devices get a high-resolution display and feature a 13MP camera that can be used for video calls and to detect your presence in space. Amazon has equipped all the new Echo smart devices with AZ3 or AZ3 Pro chips that have been developed to cater to the AI demands and other personalised performances of these devices with Alexa+ at the core.
However, the AI element of Alexa is absent from the Indian models of the new Echo Show devices and it seems the company is still figuring out how to make the voice assistant appealing enough for people to pay for the service.
You do get the smart home features built into the devices that work with other third-party products and solutions. Both the Echo Show models have been revamped on the audio front, you now have stereo speakers on the front along with customised woofer to fill the audio in the visual.
Amazon recently made Alexa available through a new web version. Amazon has mostly restricted the use of the AI-powered Alexa for select users in the US since its official launch but now people don’t need its Echo speakers or Fire TV devices to access the latest version.
This is an intriguing move by the company which is still looking to fine tune the AI assistant before making it available in other regions like India. We’ve already seen Gemini and ChatGPT work through web browsers and Amazon taking this route feels quite logical.
