Amid the ongoing tense situation in Bangladesh, a Hindu youth was brutally lynched by Islamists over alleged blasphemy. According to reports, the victim, identified as Dipu Chandra Das, was attacked by a mob in Bangladesh’s Mymensingh district on Thursday night. Bangladesh is currently witnessing widespread unrest following the death of prominent July Uprising leader Sharif Osman Hadi.
It has been learnt that the mob after killing Das hung his body from a tree and set it on fire.
Reportedly, Dipu Chandra Das was a young garment factory worker living as a tenant in the Dubalia Para area of Bhaluka Upazila. According to police, a group of locals accused him of making derogatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and attacked him around 9 pm.
Meanwhile, the police is attempting to trace the victim’s family members and said that legal proceedings will begin once a formal complaint is lodged.
Highlighing the horrifying torture against Hindus in Bangladesh, BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya took to X and wrote that such incidents expose the brutal reality of what happens when Islamic extremism goes unchecked and minorities are stripped of protection.
He further attacked the West Bengal Chief Minister, saying, “This is precisely the direction in which Mamata Banerjee is pushing the Hindus of West Bengal—towards a future where Hindus are reduced to second-class citizens, their voices silenced, and their homeland compromised, all to satisfy her relentless pursuit of political power."
“History has shown us the consequences of appeasement politics. Ignoring warning signs today will only invite catastrophe tomorrow," he added.
