The iPad Mini 7 is already here so does Apple need a launch event for the new Macs?

Apple launched the iPad Mini 7 this week and the big M4 upgrade is still awaited but will that happen with a launch event?

Apple might actually skip having a launch event just to announce the new M4-powered MacBook Pro that we have been hearing about over the last few weeks. There is a very good reason for the company to just announce the product with an event and the iPad Mini 7 launch this week makes it even more possible that Apple might have other ideas for its upcoming launch.

Apple M4 MacBook Pro Launch: Does It Really Need An Event?

Apple was expected to bring the new iPad Mini 7 along with the M4 Macs sometime this month, which was also highlighted by Bloomberg in a report. But now that the Mini 7 has been launched via a press note, Apple could easily bring the new M4 Macs via the same route this month.

We get that Apple usually hosts an event in October where we see new Macs and some iPad upgrades. But the M4 processor got its big break with the iPad Pro M4 models at the WWDC 2024 this year. The company has talked about the new performance levels and architecture of its latest M-series hardware.

So, does the incremental MacBook Pro M4 model need a launch event all to itself? Our thinking behind this move is also based on the fact that Apple has not shared any invite teaser for the supposed October launch, and surely you don’t need one for a product that has the same design as the previous iteration.

Either way, there will be a lot of excitement around the first M4 Macs in the market, even though the M4 MacBook Air and few other models are not expected before early 2025. Safe to say that most people are now eager to see the new-look iPhone SE 4 model that is tipped to launch around the same time next year.
