Apple users have felt safe about using the MacBooks and other Mac devices because of its security compared to Windows PCs. But over the years, the threat of malware attacks on MacOS have increased which is only getting worse with the advent of AI-powered tools in the market.

The detailed report from a security agency claims Apple will have its work cut out to prevent these malware attacks to become a serious concern for the Mac users in the next few years.

Mac Threat Increases But Why

The threat on macOS systems has increased which is surprising because the number of people using a Mac device is far lower than Windows. Hackers generally target platforms that have more user base but the ease of developing these malware for macOS has given them a new reason to infect the platform. So, using AI tech means more people have the means and expertise to develop the malicious files that can be infiltrated into Macs.

We have even read reports about various macOS malware going public this year and things are likely to go up another level in near future.

Having said that, the macOS threat has also raised concerns about how the users operate their system and if they are being as cautious about their activities as they would be on a Windows PC.

Make no mistake, the macOS security is still quite reliable and Apple pushes quick emergency updates when needed, but the apparent interest among hackers towards the platform and their incentive to focus on them will surely need to be addressed by the company.

Does it make buying Macs less safer than before, not really but it is up to the person using the machine and their overall hygiene with their system, making sure they don’t entertain messages, emails and files from unknown senders or open links that could route them to their server from where stealing data becomes easier.
