Apple Vision Pro sales have gone down which has prompted many to think that an affordable version might be needed for a big push.

Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch a more affordable version of the Vision Pro headset next year. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the new device, expected to be priced at around $2,000 (Rs 1.68 lakh approx), which makes it significantly cheaper than $3,500 priced Vision Pro.

Dubbed the 'Apple Vision,' this headset aims to make spatial computing more accessible by utilizing less expensive materials and a less powerful CPU, while still offering an immersive experience.

What will be the changes? To reduce the price of the flagship device, Apple will most likely remove some of its ‘Pro’ features including, the EyeSight feature, which displays the user's eyes on the headset's outside. Apart from that, the company is also expected to employ more plastic in its structure, moving away from the Vision Pro's premium aluminium and glass design.

As per the report, the current Vision Pro is powered by an M2 chipset, while the coming version of the mixed-reality headset will come with an A-series processor such as the A18 Pro.

Furthermore, Apple is also reportedly planning to introduce a second generation of its Vision Pro later in 2026. This updated model is also expected to have advancements in hardware and user experience, potentially making it a more competitive product in the growing market of AR/VR headset market.

Apart from that, the company is also reportedly exploring the possibilities of introducing smart glasses in the market, similar to the Meta Ray-Ban glasses and an AirPod with built-in screen by 2027.

Recently, a report from Bloomberg suggested that the Cupertino-based tech giant has paused the development of its Smart Ring, years after internally working on a model for this segment.

According to the report, Apple is concerned about the possibility that the smart ring may reduce demand and sales of the Apple Watch, which has long been a solid product and a leader in the wearable gadgets field.
