Bajaj Auto Ltd on Monday, February 3, reported a 7% growth in its January 2025 sales comared to the previous fiscal, driven by a significant boost in export volumes for both two-wheelers and commercial vehicles.
However, the company’s domestic sales dipped slightly during the period.
In the two-wheelers segment, Bajaj Auto's domestic sales stood at 1,71,299 units in January 2025, a decline of 11% from the previous year's 1,93,350 units, according to a stock exchange filing.
The company witnessed a 37% surge in two-wheeler exports to 1,57,114 units, compared to 1,14,898 units in January 2024. As a result, the total two-wheeler sales (domestic + exports) for January 2025 were 3,28,413 units, marking a 7% increase from the 3,08,248 units sold in January 2024.
The commercial vehicles segment showed a modest increase in both domestic and export sales.
Domestic sales of commercial vehicles grew by 1%, with 37,060 units sold in January 2025, up from 36,693 units in January 2024. Exports jumped by 41% to 15,567 units, compared to 11,069 units in January 2024. Total commercial vehicle sales for January 2025 amounted to 52,627 units, a 10% increase from the 47,762 units sold in January 2024.
Bajaj Auto’s year-to-date performance from April to January also reflected a healthy growth trajectory. Total sales for the first 10 months of FY 2024-25 reached 39,29,072 units, an 8% increase over the 36,38,367 units sold during the same period last year.
In the two-wheelers segment, domestic sales grew by 4% to 19,78,452 units, while exports climbed by 14% to 13,88,707 units. The total two-wheeler sales for the period stood at 33,67,159 units, an 8% increase from the previous year.
For commercial vehicles, domestic sales increased by 4% to 4,04,344 units, while exports grew by 22% to 1,57,569 units. Total commercial vehicle sales for the period reached 5,61,913 units, an 8% rise from the 5,19,013 units sold in the same period last year.
Shares of Bajaj Auto were trading 1.26% lower at ₹9,033.3 on the BSE around 9.50 am.
