Bajaj Consumer’s Q2 profit drops, with flat revenue and declining EBITDA margins

Bajaj Consumer Care reported flat revenue in Q2 FY25, with operations totalling ₹233.98 crore, down just 0.4% from ₹234.85 crore in the same period last year and down 4.9% from Q1 FY25.

Total income slipped slightly to ₹242.85 crore from ₹246.24 crore year-on-year.

Profitability saw a notable dip, with EBITDA down 11% to ₹32.64 crore compared to ₹36.69 crore in Q2 FY24.

The company’s EBITDA margins also contracted, falling to 13.9% from 15.6% a year earlier, reflecting ongoing pressures on operating efficiency and cost containment.

Net profit (PAT) decreased by 15% year-on-year to ₹31.85 crore from ₹37.27 crore, though it showed a minor improvement over the previous quarter. Profit before tax (PBT) stood at ₹38.84 crore, a decline from the previous quarter’s ₹45.38 crore, as the company faced continued margin pressures.

Bajaj Consumer Care’s shares on Monday closed down by 1.66% at ₹222.65 on the BSE, indicating market concerns over the company’s narrowed profitability and muted revenue growth amidst a competitive landscape.
