Baloch resistance groups, led by the Baloch Raji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS)--a coalition of various armed organisations advocating for Balochistan's independence from Pakistan--have announced a new intensified offensive against Pakistan and China. As part of this escalation, they have introduced a unified outfit named the Baloch Army.
Currently, BRAS consists of various armed outfits, such as the Baloch Liberation Army, Balochistan Liberation Front, Baloch Republican Guards, Sindhi Liberation Organisation, and Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army. The forces have decided to form a combined outfit, which will function as the Baloch Army, a statement said.
At the grassroots level, the process of strengthening and reorganising the organisational and military foundations in all regions will commence immediately, the outfit leaders added.
"The main objective of this process is to transform the Baloch resistance forces from scattered operations into an organised, coordinated and decisive force which will prove to be an invincible wall against the enemy. It was decided in the meeting that further intensity and innovation will be introduced in the war against Pakistan and China," a statement issued after a three-day meeting said.
Guerrilla operations will be organised according to modern military strategies to inflict greater losses on them, while the combat superiority of BRAS will be further consolidated through the effective use of technology on the battlefield, the statement added.
A coordinated and systematic plan of action has also been drawn up to eliminate the enemy's intelligence superiority, weaken its military positions and target its war equipment, which will be implemented as soon as possible, it stressed.
"To intensify resistance against the looting of Baloch resources, the exploitative projects of Pakistani and Chinese capitalists and the presence of the occupying army, it was decided to intensify the blockade on all important highways of Balochistan to disrupt the logistical, economic, and military interests of the occupying state," the statement read.
By also formulating a plan for the ideological, intellectual, and military training of all Baloch fighters, the new unified outfit aims to prepare and train its personnel for one common goal of their "national" liberation by creating an "invincible" movement.
The BRAS further said, "The occupation of Baloch resources is unacceptable under any circumstances and BRAS will ensure that no colonial power, including China, can exploit Baloch resources in collaboration with Pakistan".
The coming together of BRAS forms a major threat to the multiple China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects being operated by the two countries.
In recent years, insurgent groups have also targeted Chinese nationals and interests in Balochistan. China is developing the deep-water Gwadar seaport, which is also in the province.
The announcement by the Baloch Liberation groups is being seen as a major setback for Chinese professionals in Pakistan. Pakistan has invested huge funds in these projects that have been on target by the Baloch groups.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani regime has also been frequently accused of alleged genocide and violent crackdowns on Baloch protesters and activists, with the situation often being tense over the decades.
