The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to take a decisive step towards electing its next national president in a week. A key organisational meeting with senior party leaders is underway to finalise the schedule and logistical arrangements for the internal poll, which will mark the end of current BJP president JP Nadda’s tenure.

According to sources, Nitin Nabin is expected to file his nomination for the BJP national president’s election on January 19.

The party is likely to formally announce its new national president on January 20, marking an important transition in the BJP’s organisational leadership.

The crucial meeting to deliberate on preparations for the election is currently underway and is being chaired by Nadda. The meeting reflects the party’s focus on ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated electoral process, in line with its organisational protocols.

Senior leaders present at the meeting include Nitin Nabin, General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh, and BJP General Secretaries Sunil Bansal, Arun Singh and Tarun Chugh. The discussions are centred on logistical and procedural arrangements related to the nomination process, scrutiny and the final announcement of the results.

With the nomination scheduled for January 19 and the election outcome expected the following day, the BJP appears poised to complete the leadership transition swiftly, underscoring its emphasis on organisational discipline and continuity ahead of key political challenges.
