Nepal Protest: Thousands of of youth took to the streets in Kathmandu after Nepal imposed a ban on social media sites, including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and X. Videos shared online show large crowds walking on streets, waving national flags, and raising slogans.

The violent protest in the capital has left at least one dead. The protest comes a week after Nepal banned social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, among others, for failing to register with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology within the given deadline.

The videos are widely being circulated on TikTok, one of the social media platforms which has not been restricted.
