After spending the day golfing while millions of Americans marched in protest, former President Donald Trump escalated his online theatrics with an AI-generated video depicting himself as a monarch in full command.

The clip, shared on both his personal and official social media accounts, shows Trump flying a fighter jet labelled "KING TRUMP" above what appears to be Times Square, dumping brown liquid on demonstrators as Kenny Loggins' 'Danger Zone' blares, a clear nod to the Top Gun films.

The demonstrations, organised under the banner "No Kings", reportedly drew nearly seven million participants nationwide, calling attention to concerns over the former president's political influence and conduct.

In response, Trump's allies dismissed the protests with ridicule and conspiracy-laden rhetoric. House Speaker Mike Johnson and other congressional Republicans labelled the gatherings "Hate America" rallies, while Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy suggested that participants were either pro-Hamas or Antifa operatives, echoing prior claims that the movement poses a domestic terror threat.

Republican supporters also leaned into the "king" imagery, sharing AI-created content depicting Trump wearing crowns and regal attire. Vice President JD Vance posted a video of the former president donning a crown and cape as Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi, kneel before him.

Other Trump-linked accounts circulated mock Time magazine covers and AI-generated videos of him waving from the White House draped in red velvet.

These stunts are part of a broader pattern of digitally amplified posturing. In September, as the administration prepared to deploy the Guard in Chicago, Trump shared an AI-generated image of himself in a cowboy hat and military fatigues, with helicopters flying over a fiery Chicago skyline, accompanied by the tagline "Chipocalypse Now", a reference to the 1979 Vietnam War epic Apocalypse Now.
