The Central Depository Services (India) Limited. (CDSL) reported demat custody of ₹79 lakh crore in the first quarter of the financial year 2026.
It reported demat custody of ₹71 lakh crore in the fourth quarter of FY25 and ₹74 lakh crore in the first quarter of last fiscal.
A total of 57 lakh net accounts were opened in the June quarter, in comparison to 64 lakh in the previous quarter and 99 lakh in the first quarter of last fiscal.
Meanwhile, Angel One reported 15 lakh accounts in the June quarter.
CDSL reported a flat revenue and sharp deterioration in margins in its first quarter.
Its net profit of ₹102.4 crore was 23.6% lower than the previous year's ₹134 crore.
The company reported a revenue of ₹259 crore in the first quarter, which was 0.6% more than the previous fiscal's ₹257.4 crore.
It reported earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of ₹130.6 crore, which was 15.1% lower than the last year's ₹154.4 crore.
CDSL's margin contracted to 50.4% from 60% in the previous year.
CDSL shares ended the previous session 3.77% lower at ₹1,616 apiece. The stock has 10.65% this year, so far.
